This may be a “hard saying” for some but if we love God then we Love All of His attributes and the Whole Bible. This is the very reason why Churches and most Christians Avoid Bible Prophecy altogether.

The view in Re. 17-18 is what happens on the path to Armageddon. This is Gods Righteous Wrath being poured out upon the Wicked for Corrupting the World which He Created and for Persecuting His Children. And most of all for Hating Him and His son Jesus and His Word. The cup is full and the time has come.

His Endless Love and Mercy has been shown and now the world will see some of Gods other Attributes such as Righteous Judgment,Justice,Holiness and Divine Wrath.Note the Holiness of God and how all those in heaven Rejoice.

Revelation 16:17-21 (NKJV) 17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.

19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, since that plague was exceedingly great.

Revelation 19:1-21 (NKJV) 1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! (Angels Rejoicing.)

2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.”

3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!”

4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!”

5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

This applies to End Time Studies as many find it hard to study and just turn to the “News Stand”

Most people have come to the point where they say, “Well I don’t need doctrine. I don’t need theology. I just love Jesus.

That is a foolish statement. That is a foolish statement.

If we love Jesus as much as we profess to love Him, then don’t you think we would want to get to know Him? And the only way to get to know Him is by knowing Him in His Word.

We’re to study the Word of God. And when our knowledge of God is deepened, our love for God is deepened.

Spiritual Shipwreck of the Word-Faith Movement

“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Readers of trash become trashy; lovers of skeptical books become skeptical; and students of the Bible, who are in real earnest, become biblical, and display the qualities of the Bible.

If you read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the word of God, the qualities of that word will be displayed in you. A man fed on the Bible is a man indeed. In the history of heroes, there are none who show so much moral muscle and spiritual sinew as those who make the word of God their necessary food.”

    Fred London When Doctrine Matters

The admonishment of “rightly dividing” or “handling accurately the word of truth” has not as its focus the end result, but rather, the process which leads to a clear apprehension of God’s thought to man. For if the process is sound, it is more than likely that the end result will also be sound. Conversely, if the process is faulty, we can expect a result which will be equally as faulty. Statements such as, “I don’t get into doctrine” or “Doctrine doesn’t matter,” has the sound of spirituality to it, but it is a pseudo-spirituality. In fact, this rather “nice” sounding attitude flies in the face of Scripture. This is not the sort of peace and unity of which the Scripture speaks. “For there must also be factions among you so that those who are approved of God may become manifest.”

Frankly, it smacks of ecumenicalism, which produces a false peace and a false unity because it is not held together by the Spirit of truth. We are exhorted to “speak the truth in love,” meaning, you can’t have one without the other. Nowhere does the Scripture teach the notion of unity at any cost. As one man has said, “It is better to be divided by truth than united in error.” Scripture clearly forewarns that one of the major signs of the “last days” will be that so many will no longer adhere to sound doctrine. It cannot be stressed enough simply because God stresses this imperative from cover to cover throughout the Scriptures, that the authenticity of ministry is in direct proportion to the authenticity of the oral or written words with which the vessel represents the “Mind of Christ.”

These days, in particular, there is a strong and irreverent tendency for those who would presume to speak for God to be far too glib and to take license with “the holy things of God.” Consequently, it would serve us well, having a healthy fear and trembling, to avoid at all cost, the presumptuous sin of “speaking that which the Lord has not spoken.” Therefore, sound doctrine does matter, not from a legalistic standpoint where “the letter kills,” but as it relates to a clear and accurate understanding of God’s character, ways, and purposes. It matters as to how Christ is represented, in Heart, in Mind, and how that directly correlates into how His Body functions, and the type of witness she portrays to the world.

It matters because, “For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” It matters because, “For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” It matters because of the great influence it has upon our world view. It matters because how we think about the Church’s place and purposes for the “last days” and her relationship and obligation as it pertains to Israel (the Jewish people) will ultimately determine as to whether the “limb” we represent will be “put out of joint” or be “a vessel, fit for the Master’s use.” With our being able “to discern the times” we therefore will know what needs to be done at the most critical time of Church and World History.

Furthermore, although reading others’ thoughts on a particular subject can be profitable, there comes a time where we reach a point of diminishing returns. Case in point: Jesus asked, “Who do men say that I am? Some say that you are Jeremiah, or Elijah, or John the Baptist raised from the dead. Then Jesus asked, “But, who do you say that I am?” In other words, there comes a point where referring people to other sources loses its effectiveness by no longer serving a useful purpose. Not unlike most, I have read many books and heard many teachings over the years, and it is important to always maintain a teachable spirit in order to continue to benefit from the spiritual deposits in others. But, there comes a point where it is time to be able to give an account for what we believe and why we believe it.

As it says in Ecclesiastes, “Be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body.” Today, we can just as easily apply that principle to websites. But, regardless of the means through which we receive the seemingly never-ending glut of teachings, it is high time for many of us to grow up and not be so easily “driven by waves, and by every wind of doctrine.” Why? Because doctrine does matter!

    Spirit of the Age

2 Timothy 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

2 Timothy 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Dr. Walter Martin preaches on 2 Timothy 3 & 4. He encourages us to put on the full armor of god in this age of spiritual warfare. We must defend the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and bring others under his wings of salvation.

Our culture is now a media culture and no longer a culture of the Book. So when it comes to the True Meaning of the Word “Today’s modern Christians” will opt for watered down Media versions of the Truth. And those media versions seem to be moving further from the Word each passing month to the point that the Bible is being twisted and buried in false views and Doctrines as time goes on.

Bible Prophecy has become an “Add on” to News Articles and a means to make a “Fast Buck” regardless of what the Bible Really Teaches. Brethren, these things shouldn’t be happen in our own lives.

We have been Warned that these days we’re coming and in the Future they will try to ban the Bible as they have in so many places today. Amos 8:11-12 (NKJV) 11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the LORD. 12 They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the LORD, But shall not find it.

Don’t settle for a “Fast Food” baby version of the truth when you can be Feasting on the Meat of the Word.

Fred London Beware of Processed Spiritual Food

like newborn babes, long for the pure milk of the word,
that by it you may grow in respect to salvation – I Peter 2:2

In Peter’s letter, he uses the term, “the pure milk of the word.” What does he mean by this? Let us begin by eliminating what he does not mean. He is not referring to the early stages of spiritual maturity as it relates to the context of I Cor. 3:1-2 and Heb. 5:13. Rather, he is speaking of the quality of what they spiritually consume. The familiar adage, ‘You are what you eat,” has been a biblical principle long before its more modern popular usage. And yet, in today’s society, we hear so much about the negative impact of processed foods to our bodies. Depending upon your personal persuasion, those claims can be justified or extreme.

But, in the spiritual realm, and more specifically, as it relates to Biblical teaching, the negative impact of processed spiritual food cannot be over emphasized. With what goes for much of this so-called “biblical” teaching so popular these days should be accompanied by a warning label: “Beware: This is Processed Spiritual Food.” The problem is certainly not with the God-given processing ministry of the Holy Spirit, but rather of the man-made process which lends itself to corrupting the word of God.

The word “pure” as defined in Peter’s letter means, “pure from defilement, not contaminated, unadulterated.” The intended meaning becomes even more clear when defining the word, “adulterate,” which means, “to make impure, illegitimate, false or inferior by adding extraneous or improper ingredients.” The psalmist says, “The words of the Lord are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times” (Ps. 12:6).

Herein lies the key to understanding how God’s word can be turned from “pure milk” into sour milk, from a source of nourishment into a source of disease, from a source of growth into a source of retardation, from a source of life into a source of death, from a pure representation of Christ and His Kingdom into a source of a perverted gospel.

The key of which we speak is all in the process, and this process is all about the vessel through which the word of God is filtered. Will the vessel employ his natural mind and fleshly nature as that filter and thereby become guilty of “adding extraneous or improper ingredients” to his teaching? Or, will that vessel endeavor to lay his mind and nature down at the Cross with the hope that nothing but the Holy Spirit might function as the Divine Filter. It is this spiritual process which seeks to remove the human ingredients which inhibits our ability and desire “to rightly divide the word of truth.” And, in this way, through such a prepared “earthen vessel,” God and His purposes might be more accurately presented in spirit and truth.

This malady in the church should not surprise us in the least, and not just because of the many prophetic words concerning false teachers in the “last days.” Since the beginning of time, the enemy has sought to corrupt the word of God. It was in the Garden of Eden where the serpent perverted God’s words to Eve which opened the door to sin entering the world. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, Satan again, perverted the word of God by taking Scripture out of context and misappropriating its meaning to somehow, if it were possible, compel the Son of God to throw himself down from the pinnacle of The Temple.

Paul, all too often, was compelled to address this issue, and found it to be an embarrassment having to defend his apostleship when being compared to others. He writes, “but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God” (II Cor. 4:2). Peter referred to these false teachers as “having eyes full of adultery.” Those “adulterating the word of God” were problematic in the early church, and so it has been to this very day.

It is worth noting that “craftiness” and “adulterating” seem to go hand in hand when exposing this issue. As Paul wrote to the Ephesians, “As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming…’ (Eph. 4:14). In other words, we are not merely speaking of honest differences in scriptural interpretation. What we are dealing with is the willful perversion of God’s word, coupled with the deceit and exploitation of God’s people.

One of the most predominant, and not surprisingly, most popular teachings in the church today is that of the “Prosperity” gospel. Have you ever noticed that those who promulgate and peddle this teaching normally are the most prosperous beneficiaries of this doctrine? There is “the law of supply and demand,” or in this case, “the law of greed and exploitation.” It makes for a very formidable alliance, and that is why it is so successful, or at least as far as the teacher and the marketing of it is concerned.

Our carnal nature is never in short supply of these essential ingredients to make this business a lucrative one, “who suppose that godliness is gain.” “But godliness is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment” (I Tim. 6:5b-6). The fact of the matter is, greed and contentment just do not mix.

Paul wrote, “But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all evils, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith, and pierced themselves with many a pang. But flee from these things, you man of God…” (I Tim. 6:9-11a). “Have wandered away from the faith…?” Could this be one of the “doctrines of demons” Paul alluded to earlier in the same letter? Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven” (Mat. 19:23).

Ah, but did not Jesus also say, “But first seek His kingdom and righteousness and all these things shall be added to you” (Mat. 7:33). Yes, but He makes this statement within the text and context of admonishing the people not to anxiously pursue these earthly” things.” Also, notice within the phrase the connective word “and,” is used, and not the conditional phrase, “so that.” Big difference! In fact, just prior to this, Jesus, says, “For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek.” Make no mistake, no Jew wanted to be compared to a Gentile. They got the message, loud and clear!

Recognize the hidden signs: “Welcome to the Spiritual Smorgasbord!” “Welcome to the Biblical Buffet!” “Have the best of both worlds!” “Choose and eat only what you want!” To prospective patrons, be forewarned: “Consumption will be hazardous to your health!” But, how can one know if a teacher and their doctrine is adulterated? If you look closely, you will find it revealed right on the back of the package. Take the time to read the ingredients, and you will know.Great Study Bibles

Psalm 2 RSV Theologian R.C. Sproul takes special note of this Psalm as a statement of God’s invisible hand behind and over all governments in the world, (I’ve added a few extra verses.)

Why do the nations conspire, and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and his anointed, saying, “Let us burst their bonds asunder, and cast their cords from us.”

(Revelation 17:13-14 (NKJV) 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” )

He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision.

Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, “I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill.”

(Zechariah 14:12 (NKJV) 12 And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths….

Revelation 19:1-6 (NKJV) 1 After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! )

I will tell of the decree of the LORD: He said to me, “You are my son, today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.

You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

(Revelation 10:7 (NKJV) 7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets. ) (Revelation 2:27 (NKJV) 27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’– )

Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, with trembling, kiss his feet, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

(Zechariah 14:12-21 (NKJV) 17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will be no rain. 18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.)

Chapter 7 of Revelation: when are the 144k actually sealed? Are they the same as the “Great Multitude” in Rev 7:9-17? If not when does that take place?

The 144,000, could line up with the events mentioned “look at the Trumpets”.

Revelation 8:7-9 (NKJV) 7 The first angel sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. 8 Then the second angel sounded: And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

Revelation 7:3-4 (NKJV) 3 saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”
4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:

Hurt not the earth nor the trees until we have sealed the servants of God in their foreheads. Please note:The Jews are not yet the servants of God?
The first mentions is the 144,000 as Tribes, the second all nations and all saved from those nations which is a further conformation the the 144,000 is the totality of both Jew and Christian?

Regarding the Great Multitude”, I think this could be a Glimpse forward into the Heavenly City?

Revelation 7:9-17 (NKJV) 9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, (Note: This is where many would put the Marriage Feast.)

(This doesn’t seem to be referring to the 144,000 and “standing before the throne and before the Lamb” usually refers to God and the Lamb.)
10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

A similar view of this description can be found in Revelation 21:3 (NKJV) 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. Revelation 22:1 (NKJV) 1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.)

11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honor and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” 14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.

16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

(The latter imagery is only found in Rev. 21-22

Are the 144,000 Jewish or both Christian and Jew “The Elect”?

“These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” The “All Israel” doesn’t receive the Lord until His Coming.

Just to keep in mind if the “they”, the 1/3 Jewish Remnant having gone through Jacob Trouble Jer.30 The Great Trib. Enter the MK in natural bodies….at His Second Coming.

Zechariah 12:9-10 (NKJV) 9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.

Zechariah 14:2-9 (NKJV) 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Armageddon)

3 Then the LORD will go forth And fight against those nations, As He fights in the day of battle.

4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south. (Acts 1)

…..9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be– “The LORD is one,” And His name one.

Another Glimpse forward into the Heavenly City?

Revelation 14:1-5 (NKJV) 1 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads.

2 And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. 3 They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. (This still looks a bit like the Heavenly City)

4 These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. (Faithful Bride of Christ) These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no deceit, (False Doctrine) for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord (Armageddon)

Matthew 24:21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Jeremiah 30:6  Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

Jeremiah 30:7  Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Daniel 12:1  And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Joel 1:2  Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

Joel 2:2  A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.

Joel 3:2  I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Joel 2:31  The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Matthew 24:29  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Mt 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (The to Armageddon)

The First 4 End Time Chapters to Read (These are the Foundation Building Blocks.) And they are Futuristic.

Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 17; Luke 21: Jesus’ main emphasis in these four parallel chapters is to describe the Great Tribulation just before His Second Coming. He predicted the siege of Jerusalem and the destruction of its temple (Mt. 24:2) by the Roman armies in 70 AD. This tragedy foreshadows the siege of Jerusalem at the end of the age (Joel 3:2, 12; Zeph. 3:8; Zech. 12:2-3; 14:2; Rev. 16:14). Many details in these four chapters make it clear, that Jesus’ words go far beyond the events of 70 AD to describe the events at the end of the age.

For example, Jesus describes the time of the Great Tribulation as the worst time in history (Mt. 24:21). God shortens this time frame to three and a half years in order to keep the entire human race from being physically killed (Mt. 24:22). Jesus said this hour would come as a snare upon the entire earth, not only Israel (Lk. 21:35).

The Great Tribulation will surpass all other crises in history, including the one million people who died in 70 AD and the fifty million who died in World War II. Neither 70 AD nor World War II threatened the existence of the human race.

Jesus said this time of tribulation would not happen until after we see the abomination of desolation (Mt. 24:15), which includes a worldwide Antichrist worship system centered upon the image of the Antichrist, and the mark of the beast (Rev. 13:13-18). None of these details were fulfilled in the Jewish revolt against Rome (66-70 AD).

Verses on how 70 AD’s tragedy only foreshadows the siege of Jerusalem at the End Time and how Jesus rescues them at the Battle of Armageddon.

Joel 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

Joel 3:12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.

Zephaniah 3:8 Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Zechariah 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.Zechariah 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Zechariah 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Revelation 16:14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

The Greek words that God uses to speak of Christ’s return

The Holy Spirit inspired the New Testament writers of the Scriptures to use three Greek words, “Parousia,” “Epiphaneia,” and “Apokalupsis,” to describe the second coming of Christ.

PAROUSIA. Is derived from “para,” by or with, and “ousia,” being, from “eimi,” to be; and it speaks both of an arrival and a consequent personal presence of someone. “Parousia” occurs 24 times in the New Testament.

It is used of the arrival and actual physical presence of people.

1Cor.16v17. “I am glad of the COMING of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaiacus.”

2Cor.7v6,7. “God — comforted us by the COMING of Titus: and not by his COMING only.”

Phil.1v26. “That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my COMING to you again.”

2Cor.10v10. “His letters, — are weighty and powerful; but his bodily PRESENCE is weak, and his speech contemptible.”

Phil.1v26. “That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my COMING to you again.

Phil.2v12. “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my PRESENCE only, but now much more in my absence.” Paul uses “parousia” for his actual physical presence, and “apousia,” for his absence.

2Pet.1v16-18. “We have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and COMING of the Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.” Our Lord was transfigured on the holy mount, after the manner of His “power and coming;” His face shone like the sun, and His raiment was as white as the light. Mt.17v2.

It is used of the coming and personal presence of the Antichrist.

2Cor.2v8,9. “Then shall the Lawless One (‘ho anomos”) be revealed,—whose COMING is after the working of Satan, whom the Lord will consume by the spirit of His mouth; and destroy with the brightness (“epiphaneia”) of His COMING.” “Destroy” is “katargesei,” the future active indicative of “katargeo,” to render inactive, to abolish, to destroy, to annihilate. Jesus annihilates Antichrist by the brightness of His coming. See Isa.11v4. “and with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.” For “consume,” the Majority Text has “analosei,” the future active indicative of “analuo,” to loose, to dissolve, to depart; in Phil.1v23., Paul uses it of his own death and departure from life.

It is used of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mt.24v3. “Tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy COMING?” v27. “As the lightening —-so shall also the COMING of the Son of Man be.” v37. “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the COMING of the Son of Man be. v39. And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the COMING of the Son of Man be.”

1Thes.2v19. “What is our — crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His COMING?

1Thes.3v13. “To the end that he may establish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

2Thes.2v1. “Now we beseech you, brethren, concerning the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto Him.” The noun “episunagoge,” means, assembling, gathering together, collecting together, meeting; it only occurs in 2Thes.2v1. and Heb.10v25. The verb “episunago,” to gather together, is used of people gathering together to meet Jesus in His ministry in Mk.1v33. and Lk.12v1., and of God’s desire to gather Israel under His protection in Mt.23v37. and Lk.13v34.; and the gathering of the Church, the elect, at Christ’s second coming, in Mt.24v31. and Mk.13v27.

These Scriptures totally demolish the arguments of the secret rapture theory. For at Christ’s “Parousia” the saints will be raised from the dead, 1Cor.15v23.; and “as the lightening cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west: so shall the “Parousia” of the Son of Man be.” Mt.24v27. We are told that “the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trumpet of God,” at Christ’s “Parousia.” 1Thes.4v15-17. In Mt.24v29-31., Jesus stated that the “parousia” will take place “immediately after the tribulation of those days.” In 1Cor.15v23,51-53., Paul writes that Christ’s coming, “Parousia,” takes place at the last trumpet of Rev.11v15-19., at the end of the tribulation

EPIPHANEIA. Is derived from “epi,” upon, and “phaino,” to make light, let shine, throw light upon; and it means appearance, manifestation, shining upon; and is used 6 times only in the New Testament.

It is applied to Christ at His first coming.

2Tim.1v8-10. “God – has saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, but is now made manifest by the APPEARING of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel.”

It is applied to Christ at His second coming.”

2Thes.2v8. “The Lawless One–the Lord shall — destroy with the BRIGHTNESS of His coming.” Jesus destroys Antichrist “with the brightness, “epiphaneia,” of His “parousia.” 2Thes.2v8.

1Tim.6v13,14. “Keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the APPEARING of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2Tim..4v1. “Who shall judge the living and the dead at His APPEARING” and His kingdom.”

2Tim4v8. “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not me only, but unto all them also that love His APPEARING.”

Titus.2v13. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious APPEARING of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.”

APOKALUPSIS. The use of “apo,” “from,” with “kalupto,” “to hide,” gives a meaning the opposite of hiding; “uncovering and unveiling;” when used of a person, it always denotes his actual appearance. It occurs 18 times in the New Testament.

It is applied to Gospel truth, spiritual illumination, and revelations from God.

Lk.2v32. “A light to LIGHTEN the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel”

Rom.16v25. “Now to Him that is of power to stablish you accordingly to my Gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the REVELATION of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.”

1Cor.14v6. “If I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by REVELATION, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?”

1Cor.14v26. “Every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a REVELATION.”

2Cor.12v1. “It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and REVELATIONS of the Lord.”

2Cor.12v7. “Lest I should be elated through the abundance of the REVELATIONS, there was given me a thorn in the flesh.”

Gal.1v12. “For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the REVELATION of Jesus Christ.”

Gal.2v2. “I went up (i.e. to Jerusalem; see Acts15v12.) by REVELATION.

Eph.1v16,17. “Making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and REVELATION in the knowledge of Him.”

Eph.3v3. “How that by REVELATION He made known unto me the mystery.”

It is the title of the book of Revelation.

Rev.1v1. “The REVELATION of Jesus Christ which God gave unto Him, to show unto His servants (the) things which must shortly come to pass: and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John.”

It is applied to the second coming of the Lord.

Rom.2v5. “Treasurest up to thyself wrath against the day of wrath and REVELATION of the righteous judgement of God.”

1Cor.1v7,8. “So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the COMING of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who will also confirm you to the end, that ye may be blameless (without accusation, uncharged, “anengkletous”), in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2Thes.1v6-8. “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; and to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus SHALL BE REVEALED (“en te apokalupsei,” “at the apocalypse”) from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God.” Persecuted Christians will rest at Christ’s “Apokalupsis.” 2Thes.1v7.

1Pet.1v7. “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the APPEARING of Jesus Christ.”

1Pet.1v13. “Wherefore –hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the REVELATION of Jesus Christ’

1Pet.4v12,13. “Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you… but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when His glory SHALL BE REVEALED, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”

“Apokalupsis” and “phaneroo” are used of the manifestation of the Sons of God at Christ’s coming

Rom.8v19. “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the MANIFESTATION of the sons of God.”

Col.3v4. “When Christ, who is our life, shall APPEAR (be manifested, “phanerothe”) then shall ye also APPEAR (be manifested, “phanerothesesthe”) with Him in glory.” Jesus heads an awesome army of saints and angels on this great day.

1John.3v2. “Beloved now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear (“ephanerothe,” the first aorist indicative of “phaneroo,” to manifest, to reveal) what we shall be: but we know that when He shall APPEAR (be manifested, “phanerothe,” the aorist passive subjunctive, as 1Jn.2v28.), we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is.”

In Mt.13v43. a similar thought is made; “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” “Shine forth,” is “eklampsousin,” the future of “eklampto,” to shine out, to shine forth. When “the Sun of righteousness arises with healing in His wings; ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of thy feet in the day that I shall do this, saith Jehovah of hosts.” Mal.4v2,3. Like the rising sun scatters the darkness, so will Jesus and the sons of God drive away the darkness of Satan’s and Antichrist’s reign. “They that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament.” Dan.12v3. “As the sun when he goeth forth in his might.” Judges.5v31. The Scripture states, “a fire goeth before Him, and burneth up His enemies round about. His lightnings enlightened the world; the earth saw and trembled. The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.” Ps.97v3-5. See Is.42v13-17. 63v1-6. Micah.1v3-5. Zech.14v4,5. 2Thes.1v5-11. Rev.19v11-21.

These Scriptures prove that the “Parousia,” “Epiphaneia,” and “Apokalupsis” of our Lord, are the same event., His “Parousia,” or personal advent, accompanies His “Epiphaneia;” and His “Apokalupsis.” The saints are gathered 2Thes.2v1.; raised from the dead 1Cor.15v23.; and presented blameless 1Thes.5v23.; at Christ’s “Parousia.” We are exhorted to keep the commandment unrebukeable until the “Epiphaneia.” 1Tim.6v13,14.; and to look for it as our blessed hope. Tit.2v13. We are told to wait for the “Apokalupsis,” when, if we abide in the light, we will be pronounced blameless 1Cor.1v7,8.; and our victories over trials of faith will be found unto praise and honour and glory 1Pet.1v7.; and great grace brought to us 1Pet.1v13.; and we will be glad with exceeding joy 1Pet.4v13.; and we will fully rest. 2Thes.1v7.
